Funky Orange natural wine from Chile. This bottle resists categorization: a blend of red & white varietals (Pink Moscatel, Torontel, and Pais) from a 4 hectare plot of 200 yr. old vines on the banks of the Maule River. Cloudy & complex with meadow flowers, orange peel, pears, and savory nuances. All natural with no added sulfur. Very limited supply. Not to be drank on it's own. Combine it with food to take the edge of the natural funkiness. Producer: Viña Gonzáles Bastías. Grapes: Pink Moscatel 40% - Torontel 40% - Country 20%. On average 70 years old of the vineyards. Ripening: 6 months in 100 year old Rauli (native Chilean wood) barrels and 3 months in bottle. Characteristics: Orange colored wine due to unusual blend and prolonged maceration. Citrus, floral and spice aromas leap from the bowl. In the mouth it is intense, tasty and surprising. Pairing: Cheese and cold meats in general, fatty fish and grilled vegetables. Alcohol Content: 13.5%
