Our organically-grown loose green tea from Uji, Kyoto, is ideal for making hot or iced green tea every day. The leaves are harvested in autumn, and have enjoyed the benefit of the sun to gain increased amount of antioxidants. We work with a group of farmers in Uji, who have been dedicated to organic farming for decades. They are certified by various organizations: JAS organic certification(HOAS) EU organic certification USDA National Organic Program Canadian Organic Regime(COR) U.S. Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") If you like more nutty, mild flavor, choose genmai-cha, which we made by adding sprouted organic brown rice from Thailand for extra taste and nutrients. [How to brew: hot tea] Use 3 to 4 grams per cup, and place it in the Japanese tea pot. Use 120ml of boiling water per cup, pour it into the pot, and let brew for 30 seconds. [How to brew: iced cold green tea] This is the most refreshing way of brewing cold green tea, and it is special because: It reduces the amount of caffein inside the tea Increases the extraction of EGC (Epigallocatechin), a substance, which can improve your immune system by boosting the activity of macropharge. We recommend you to make it in a large amount, at least 1-2 liter. Trust us, you will drink it very quickly! Prepare ice cold water, keep some ice inside to make sure it stays cold. The water temperature must be below 4 degrees. Put 10g of tea inside a tea bag, and cold brew the tea for 30-40 minutes. Remove the tea and enjoy. You can use the tea few more times within the same day. If you want to make small amount: Put an ice cold water with ice inside a teapot. say, 100ml. Put 10g of tea leaves inside and pour the tea out after 5 minutes. Repeat the process with ice cold water, but after the second time, you only need to wait for 5 seconds. You can re-use the tea leaves many more times within the same day.
