Why Paleo

The Paleo diet is the healthiest way you can eat because it is the ONLY nutritional approach that works with your genetics to help you stay lean, strong and energetic! Research in Biology, Biochemistry, Ophthalmology, Dermatology and many other disciplines indicate it is our modern diet, full of refined foods, trans fats and sugar, that is at the root of degenerative diseases such as obesity, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, depression and infertility. – Robb Wolf

The Benefits of eating Paleo

You eat unprocessed, real food

Eliminating a whole range of preservatives, hidden sugars, sodium, additives, artificial flavouring and colouring means you automatically eliminate unnecessary toxins and consume more nutrients.

Real foods include lean protein sources, fruits, vegetables, seafood, nuts & seeds and healthy fats.

The Paleo diet is rich in nutrients

One of the misconception about the Paleo diet is that it’s all about protein and fat.

What many don’t realize is that by eliminating nutrient-void processed carbs (or fillers) we supplement with loads of vegetables, healthy fats, nuts, seeds, berries and fruit, all of which are full of minerals and vitamins.

You’d be surprised that we can get pretty much all required nutrients from animal, seafood and plant based foods.

It's also rich in healthy fats

The Paleo diet promotes

1) Healthy saturated fat from grass fed meat, poultry, seafood, ghee, butter and coconuts
2) Lots of Monounsaturated fat from olive oil, nuts and seeds
3) Small amounts of polyunsaturated fats

The right types of fat are essential in maintaining healthy arteries, brain function, healthy skin, as well as decreasing systemic inflammation.

In conclusion, when people start eating Paleo, they often lose weight, feel less hungry, and have fewer cravings for sugar.

Like any diet plan, you’ll notice the best results the longer you stick with it.

If you try the Paleo diet for one month you should be able to gauge whether or not it’s something you want to stick with or not.

You should have visible results by that point, and be able to see a difference in how you feel, and how much energy you have each day.

It’s up to you how serious you want to get with the strictness of the foods you eat, but simply cutting out all of the 21st century junk is a huge step in the right direction.
