Frequently asked questions

Ordering my meals

How do I order?

Go to paleorobbie.com/mealplan and choose the meals you’d like to have delivered.

Our menu for the following week is uploaded every Wednesday at 11am. To ensure delivery on Monday, we ask that you place your order before Friday 5pm.

If I forgot to order before Friday 5 PM can I still get my order in for next week?

Yes, of course. We might not be able to deliver your first meal on Monday but you can order meals for the rest of the week keeping our 36 hour notice in mind.

Why do I need to order 36 hours in advance?

Not only are we very picky about the ingredients we use, we only order exactly what we need and use from the farms. We also use slow cooking techniques ("we cook like your grandmother used to do").

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, you can however we do require 36 hours notice before any cancellations as we need to place our order to the local and organic farms in advance.

Can I view my previous orders?

Of course. You can access your order history on your account when logged in.

Can I try out your meals first before committing to a package?

Absolutely. You can try out as many meals as you’d like during your first week. We highly encourage you to order three or more meals during your trial week to get a sense of the different varieties of meals we offer.

Can I save multiple addresses?

Certainly. You can add multiple addresses under the 'Delivery addresses' tab on your account.

What happens after my trial week?

If you enjoyed the meals during your first week and would like to order more going forward, we ask that you pick one of our 3 pricing plans .

The bigger packages come with added in-store credit as well as new customer benefits from our partners.

Once you're on the Meal Plan, you can order as few or as many meals as you’d like each week. You can also completely skip weeks if you’re out of town.

What is the difference between Optimal health and Weight loss on your pre-selected programs?

The Weight Loss plan selects the meal with the least amount of carbohydrates. It avoids white potatoes, other starches and onions where possible. Low carb diets work quite well for people who are overweight and looking to lose a fair share of weight.

The Optimal Health plan chooses the most nutrient dense meals on our menu. This involves the organ meats such as kidney, liver and sweetbread and Alaskan salmon, herring, beef etc. It avoids meals such as chicken and pork.

Paying for my meals

How do I pay?

Our payment methods include Bank transfer, PayPal, Credit card, Bitcoin or Cash over the counter (at Tops, Big C, Family Mart or any bank branch).

Why don't you accept cash on delivery?

Honestly, cash payments are a pain in the butt. Especially in Thailand it’s very challenging, and the precautions needed to handle cash payments are costly. We understand this will cause us to lose out on business, but in return we can offer a more seamless and pleasant customer experience to all of our customers.

PaleoRobbie’s aim is to provide the healthiest meals, that never leave you hungry, as affordable as possible. Rather than increasing our prices each year, we continue to automate the order and delivery process as much as possible. Cash payments unfortunately cannot be automated. It’s 2017, and we accept bitcoin.

How much do you charge for delivery?

We charge 50 Baht per delivery in Bangkok, Nichada and Samutprakan. The delivery charge might vary to areas outside of the ones mentioned.

Can I order food without pre-paying for a package?

The Meal Plan tries to offer good value-for-money meals with the healthiest ingredients possible so that everyone can eat healthy every day. This means we have a lot lower margin on food cost than any normal restaurant or food vendor. We use nothing from China and all our protein sources are pasture-fed or wild. We highly depend on operational efficiency and the pre-paid packages is a business model that allows us to do that.

On the one hand you have to pay in advance for meals you didn't order yet, but in return there are no minimum order sizes or restrictions, and the usual hassle of making and confirming payments is minimized. Each billing period (once your credit runs out) will have a full order history and credit usage statement similar to a bank account.

Do I have to tip the driver?

You are not required to tip your driver although any tip is greatly appreciated by them.

Preparing my meals

How are Paleo meals made?

Our meals are made completely from scratch every day with the healthiest, freshest and pesticide-free produce. Our meals are 100% gluten-free, antibiotic-free, pesticide free and made without added sugars, preservatives, processed foods and other nasties.

I have dietary allergies or restrictions. Can you still cook for me?

Definitely. We can tailor meals for you by removing certain ingredients from the meals. When placing your order, you can add your preferences/dislikes. We do however cook our meals in bulk so if we cannot remove an ingredient for a certain meal, we will get in touch with you.

How long does the food stay fresh for?

If you refrigerate the meals immediately after your delivery, your meals will stay fresh for 3-4 days. We do however recommend that the fish and salad dishes be eaten within one day.

How many calories are in each meal?

The average for fish and salad dishes is around 600-800 calories for a Regular sized meal and 300-400 for a Half sized meal. The Beef/Lamb/Pork dishes range between 700 and 1,200 calories with the average being around 1,200 for a Regular sized meal and 600 for a Half sized meal.

How do I heat up my meals?

1. Oven (recommended): Simply pre-heat your oven to 120-130c and place your food inside for 10-15 minutes. Meals that contain larger meat servings (lamb shanks, beef brisket, slabs of pork) may require a few extra minutes in the oven. After 10 minutes it’s best to try and then decide whether it needs a bit longer in the oven or not.

2. Pan-fry (for experts): If you’re comfortable around the stove then pan frying is a good way to reheat your meal. It may take a bit longer to reheat, but you’ll retain more of the fresh taste and texture of the food. Never use high heat for reheating the meal in a pan. Simply place your meal inside the pan on low to medium heat and cover with a lid for approximately 4-5 minutes. Then check every 3-4 minutes to see if the meal is hot enough for you. Meals that contain larger meat servings (lamb shank, beef brisket, boston pork steak) may require a few extra minutes in the pan.

3. Microwave: Place your meal in the microwave at medium or even low setting for 2-3 minutes. Meals that contain larger meat servings (lamb shack, beef brisket, boston pork steak) may require an extra minute in the microwave. It’s best to try after every 2 minutes to make sure you don’t accidentally nuke the be-jingles out of the food. Food left in the microwave too long can become chewy and soggy and that wouldn’t make anyone happy.

P.S. If there is medium rare meat in your meal (and you prefer it to stay that way) it might be best to separate the meat from the rest, as the vegetables will require a little more time to warm up properly.

Delivering my meals

Are the meals delivered daily or all at once?

The meals are delivered daily (meaning Monday's meals are delivered only on Monday, etc). The meals are freshly prepared for you each morning so we cannot deliver them on other days.

Can you delivery to my office for lunch and my home for dinner?

Unfortunately not as deliveries are made only once a day. The meals however can be kept for several days so can be consumed at different hours of the day.

How are the meals delivered to me?

The meals are delivered chilled in re-usable BPA-free containers anywhere in Bangkok. You can also choose to have your meals delivered in disposable containers.

What time do you deliver?

We deliver anytime between 9am and 9pm.

Why do you require a 2-hour time frame for delivery?

We all know how Bangkok traffic can get, especially during rush hour. This is why we ask for a 2-hour window in case we have to deal with heavy traffic jams, flat tires, floods, protests etc.

Where do you deliver to?

We deliver everywhere in Bangkok as well as to areas like Nichada Thani and Samut Prakan (Mega Bang-Na). We also offer free delivery to our Partners which include Training Ground (Sukhumvit 69 and Rama 4), Base, Crossfit Ten500, Aspire and Pilatest.

To view where we deliver without any extra charge, please click here.

What if I am not around when the delivery arrives?

There's no need to be present during delivery. We can leave your meals at your reception/security booth or with your housekeeper/staff as long as they are aware and we are allowed to do so.

How do I return the containers?

The reusable containers can be handed back to our delivery staff or left at the same place your meals are dropped off at. Our staff will make sure they are picked up.
