Organic white quinoa is known for its fluffiest texture when compared to its cousins. Great with mixed with rice, or as a base for any dish. While always misunderstood as a grain, quinoa is actually a plant member of the spinach, chard, and beet family, "pseudocereals." This plant family produces seeds and fruits that are similar to grains and used in virtually the same ways. It is high in protein, nutrients, and vitamins. Other common pseudocereals are amaranth and buckwheat. Organic, gluten-free, and gain-free! How to cook: Rinse your quinoa in running water, drain well. In a pot, combine 1:2 ratio quinoa : water(or stock), bring to boil. Let simmer uncovered for 10-15 mins, or until all water is absorbed, stir occasionally. Turn off the heat, cover for 5 minutes. Remove the lid and fluff with a fork. Tips: we love substituting water with stock/broth for more flavor!
