Meet our sustainably wild-caught Mantis Shrimps from Gulf of Thailand. When the weather permits and the tide is high, our fisherman takes his long-tail boat out just a few meters from shore, sets up a net, and waits patiently for 2-3 hours. No trawling, no farming, no antibiotics, just fresh daily catch. The taste of Wild Mantis Shrimp (กั้ง) has been described as a delightful blend of seafood and vegetable flavors. When cooked, mantis shrimp have tender meat with a slightly sweet taste, reminiscent of langoustines or lobster. The overall effect is like enjoying a refreshing, light meal, perfect for a summer day. Good to note: Our shrimps are packed in water before freezing to preserve the maximum level of quality to freshly caught shrimps. (packing directly into vacuum bag can cause freezer burn) To prep: defrost overnight in the fridge, or place in water bath for 30 mins. 8-9 count per pack, frozen, peeled and ready to use!
