Western King Prawns (Melicertus latisulcatus) are wild caught in the Spencer Gulf, South Australia. (Eastern King Prawns (Melicertus plebejus) are wild caught in Queensland and will be substituted when Western King Prawns are not available.) The prawns are peeled and packaged in our Adelaide Factory. The King Prawn has a superb sweet taste and has firm but delicate flesh, which makes it perfect for sashimi. About the producer: The icy, cold waters off the coast of southern Australia are known for being some of the least polluted and most pristine marine environments in the world - resulting in exceptionally high-quality seafood.
