This is the UMF 10+ Manuka honey from Egmont, the leading producer in New Zealand. Serious MGO density of 285+ at a price that doesn't break the bank 🍯 We are the direct importer of Egmont's great Manuka honey range, which is why the prices are less than you might be used to for Manuka honey. About Manuka honey Manuka honey comes from the nectar of the Mānuka tree in New Zealand, which flowers for only 6 weeks per year. It's known for its uniquely strong antibacterial properties, which come from a compound called methylglyoxal (MGO) present in manuka honey. It's been traditionally used as "medicinal" honey, taken when you have a compromised immune system or as a natural wound healing treatment. The higher the MGO level in your Manuka honey, the more potent the antibacterial properties will be. The entry level Manuka honeys are mixed with other wildflower nectars, and typically have MGO scores of 50+ to 100+. Great for "daily driver" honeys. Honeys with the UMF badge are pure Manuka honey (monofloral) and have varying MGO levels from the 200s up to the extremely potent 800+. With a monofloral manuka honey you'll get the rich, bittersweet, dark toffee flavor of manuka and a serious antibacterial punch. Add it to your tea, cooking, or just have a spoonful a day. You can also use it externally on the skin. About Egmont Egmont was started in New Zealand by a passionate beekeeper & conservationist with only 100 hives. Today they cultivate around 4,000 hives from their Taranaki farm, and their manuka honey is sent all over the world. We are proud to be the direct importer, bringing New Zealand's best manuka honey to Thailand 🇹🇭 By cutting out the middleman, we think you will find the price tag more friendly than what you are used to seeing for manuka! 🐝
