Level up your pantry with Bianco Dinapoli tomatoes 🍅
January 24, 2024

Whether you're quickly whipping up something on a weeknight or going full chef-mode on the weekend, there's nothing better than opening a pantry fully stocked with high-quality essentials.
Today we're bringing you a major upgrade for one of your kitchen's backbone ingredients - canned tomatoes & sauce 🥫

"Whether a tomato or a rumor, consider the source."

That's Chris Bianco, founder of Pizzeria Bianco and the first pizzaiolo to win the James Beard award back in 2003 for his "maniacal" commitment to high-integrity ingredients and tireless pursuit of pizza perfection 🍕

Chris has sourced his tomatoes directly from a private group of organic farmers in fertile northern California since the late 2000s, working with canner Rob Dinapoli.

In 2012, when they had some leftover tomatoes, they began selling on an allocation-only basis to select chefs across America, and Bianco Dinapoli was born.

With each passing season they have slowly built up production volume, and today the tomatoes are offered in speciality retailers in the US.

(We're thrilled to be the first to carry them outside the US and Canada 🙌)

Canned tomatoes = peak flavor 🥫

By canning their tomatoes immediately after the harvest - literally within hours - Bianco Dinapoli "lock in" the incredible flavor of peak northern California tomato season so that you can enjoy it (and Pizzeria Bianco can make pizzas with it!) long after summer is gone.

Once picked, speed is the name of the game - the tomatoes are hand-selected, washed, and canned within 4 hours of harvest!

Nothing is added except a touch of sea salt - none of the chemical preservatives or firming agents you'll find in the supermarket brands.

The result is exceptional flavor, year-round.

But don't take our word for it...how about the New York Times? They picked Bianco Dinapoli for their "Best Canned Tomato" in 2023 over the famous San Marzanos from Italy. Not bad.

Your starting lineup 🍅

From left to right, you've got something for every occasion:

  • Crushed in puree: The "all-rounder" option - great for pasta & pizza sauces (of course), soups & stews, braising, and so much more.

  • Fire roasted chopped: Chopped tomatoes, fire roasted over an open flame to bring out their natural sweetness and give them some smokiness. Amazing for dishes where you want a hint of smoky flavor like chili, tacos, salsas, and lots more.

  • Whole peeled: Steam peeled whole tomatoes - these are the most versatile, but require more prep. Great for slow-cooked dishes where they'll break down slowly or dishes where the integrity of the whole tomato is important.

  • Tomato basil sauce: Just five classic, high-integrity ingredients come together to make this sauce: organic tomatoes, organic EVOO, organic garlic, organic basil, and sea salt. A beautiful, versatile, and incredible sauce to have ready to go in your pantry.

  • Tomato paste: Last but not least, these little cans are flavor bombs - add them to any sauce, stew, braise, or marinade to bring great depth of flavor. Bianco Dinapoli's organic tomatoes are concentrated 5-fold for intense flavor.

POV: Waiting to become a life-changing sauce 🥹
